Mini Longboards Are Not For Everyone

Mini longboard for your kids are a kind of skateboard. The first skateboards originated in the 1950s USA where they were constructed based on surfboards. They represented the land version of surfboards.

Longboards are longer versions of classical skateboards. That way they emulate the feeling of surfing the waves much better than previous versions of boards.

Finally, Mini Longboards are smaller than standard longboards but still longer than classical boards and they can also get inside of one’s rucksack or bag.

They are between 22 and 30 inches long. You can often see them being carried around by students who use them for commuting and short-distance transport. Those ones are called cruisers. Cruisers are easy to carry around within personal luggage, contrary to standard boards.

Mini longboards are especially good for beginners and women. Women are big fans of them! You may even find a mini longboards girls’ fan club. Go girls!

Minis are not so flexible as classic longboards, so they are not specialized for high-level moves. However, riding masters make them as successfully as with the classic longboards.

There are many brands and models on the market, but three models that definitely deserve their position in the top quality list are Santa Cruz Landshark, Surf One Robert August II and Sector 9 Babylon Bob Marley.

Santa Cruz Landshark or Santa Cruz Land Shark is one pretty cruiser. Deck is great for riding and the shape is more than obviously based on the shape of a surfboard. Landshark has Bullet trucks and 65mm Road Rider wheels. Effect of this is that it can go really fast for one mini longboard. Santa Cruz Landshark is a cool choice for people who want to feel land surfing to the fullest.

On the other hand, Surf One Robert August II is also nice cruising board. It’s quite bendable and not concave, however, it is very light. At first try you may feel strange because of it not being concave, but you get use to it and it is really no problem at all. If I would have to choose one bad thing it is that the board has no cutouts or wells, so you have to use angled risers to keep from getting wheelbite.

Sector 9 Babylon Bob Marley sings “Get up, stand up!” all over it! It is inspired by Bob Marley and it can go really quickly. With a small wheelbase and small kicktail, it can provide you with nice direction change. Maybe not so for down-hill riding, however this board is perfect for transport around the city or campus. With 61mm 78a Nineball wheels and Abec 5 PDP bearings this bamboo board is a great option.
