It has long been an unsolved problem of online market research done by means of Access Panel sample surveys, that there has been no possibility to verify whether a participant in a survey is really the same who was requested to take part in the corresponding survey via e-mail.
The biometrical identification process Psylock recognizes the user on the basis of his typing habits. In addition to the dynamic characteristics (rhythm, speed, finger dexterity) the decisive information for the evaluation of a unique profile lies in the so called stable (i.e. very person-specific) characteristics of the typing habits:
- Choice of Keys (Shift key, cursor keys, number lock)
- Overtaking (The overlapping of the release of a key with the stroke of the next key)
- Ingrained sequences (Certain series of letters are entered by the user at a higher speed and with a special rhythm)
- Typing Errors (Type and frequency of the typing error, as well as use of the backspace and delete key)
It is possible to identify a person on the basis of a short entry string by means of an analysis of these characteristics of their typing habits, in a complex mathematical model, and by using a neuronal network for optimization of the selectivity.
The subject here is a cost effective and browser-based software solution. Neither special hardware nor the installation of software is required on the side of the person to be identified.
