Opinion people is an actively recruited panel. This means that it's only possible to join the panel by being invited by opinion people. All panel members are told that they are part of a panel and that membership in the opinion people panel is voluntary. They are given a clear and unambiguous guarantee that the access panel is used solely for the purpose of market research surveys.
For recruitment of the panel, opinion people uses a double-opt-in registration process: After we have invited persons to join opinion people, interested persons fill out a first short registration form on www.opinion-people.com.
After this first registration step the new panel member receives an e-mail in which opinion people welcomes him/her. Only after confirming the registration by clicking on a personalized hyperlink in this e-mail and filling out the profile registration survey, this new member becomes a real and active panel member.
The opinion people panel is recruited via various online sources as well as via CATI recruitment. Opinion people retains documentary proof of how each panel member was recruited. A statistic of what percentage of the panel was recruited via different sources is available at any time.
