What experience does your company have with providing online samples for market research?

Please describe the opt-in process.
Every person who is invited to join our panel gets a personalized invitation-code which allows him/her to register at opinion-people.
After the first registration step, this person gets a confirmation email and only upon confirmation a person can answer our basic profile, which allows them to become an active panel member.
Do you have a confirmation of identity procedure? Do you have procedures to detect fraudulent respondents at the time of registration with the panel? If so, please describe.
The fact that we have an "on invitation only" registration method, drastically reduces the risk of forged identities from the word go.
Before becoming an active panel member, all candidates are required to complete the double-opt-in process. This ensures that the person in question really is who they say they are, or is at least the owner of the e-mail address. Having completed the mandatory basic profile, thorough duplicate checks are made. All panelists are required to have a valid bank account in order to receive incentive pay-outs. It is highly unlikely that someone is going to be prepared to manage 2 or more bank accounts and pseudonyms for the sake of earning a few Euros in an online panel. We also have the possibility to compare claims made in surveys with the data entered in the personal profile. In terms of fraud: We are looking to introduce a biometrical approach on authenticity which analyzes the user's typing behavior.
What profile data is kept on panel members? For how many members is this data collected and how often is this data updated?
A basic profile, which is mandatory in order to become an active member, includes information on socio-demographic data but also on more specific topics such as internet use or model of car.
In addition, we have 9 special profiles on finance, health, media etc, each of which is broken down into a wide range of subcategories and which can be filled out on a voluntary basis. This data needs to be updated at least once every 12 month in order to remain an active member in our panel.
What is the size and/or the capacity of the panel, based on active panel members on a given date? Can you provide an overview of active panelists by type of source?
We can provide a panelist overview, divided into source type, at any time. Information about panel size is based on active members only.
